Prepare for a potential switch to well water the week of November 12

La Marque citizen and businesses should prepare for a potential switch to well water next week. Gulf Coast Water Authority plans to mobilize maintenance crews on Monday, Nov. 12, to determine a repair plan for a leaking water line.

STATEMENT FROM GULF COAST WATER AUTHORITY

NOVEMBER 9, 2018 – Gulf Coast Water Authority (GCWA) plans to mobilize maintenance crews on Monday, Nov. 12, to determine a repair plan for a leaking water line that serves a number of communities in Galveston County. Those communities are Galveston, Tiki Island, Bayou Vista, Hitchcock and Santa Fe, as well as portions of La Marque, Dickinson and League City.

GCWA continues to update and coordinate with potentially impacted water service providers in those communities to ensure an uninterrupted supply of water to their customers during the repair period.

In the coming days GCWA urges citizens to watch for updates and to be conscious of their water use. Water customers with questions or concerns can contact their municipal water service providers. STATEMENT FROM CITY OF LA MARQUE 

La Marque citizen and businesses should prepare for a potential switch to well water next week. The switch to well water could result in change of water taste and color. All City of La Marque water, including well water, is tested and held to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TECQ) standards. Details are forthcoming and will be shared as soon as they become available.
